Well we are just over one week away from launch. All the planning seems to be going well so far. We have confirmed all of our accommodation and are finalising meeting places and departure times. Eoin has a function in Gouldburn on the Friday night before we leave so we'll probably pick him up in Goulburn or Taralga. Unfortunatley we've had to cancel the lap around Mount Panorama because it is closed in preparation for the Bathurst 1000 the following weekend.
We've done a bit of accommodating too so that we can get the best view of the NRL grand final on Sunday in Coonabarabran. The publican at the Imperial Hotel where we are staying has organised to get our bikes locked up overnight and has assured me that the game will be on the big screen in the pub. We will leave Kandos a little early to make sure we are into Coonabarabran in plenty of time to be well fed and watered before the game starts.
I had the bike checked over and had to get new front and back tyres this week. It's a bit of a blow because I'll have to scrub them in before we go or risk getting left behind by the boys on day 1 through Kangaroo Valley and along the Tablelands Way and Sofala Road. I also got the new GPS hardwired in. It will be interesting to see how it goes because I will now have the music, GPS and my phone all bluetoothed into the helmet communicatiosn system. Might be a little noisy at times.
Looking forward to getting the last week of work out of the way.
